Simpson & Simpson was hired midway through construction to take over management of this new 53,000 square foot classroom building. The building includes a 264-capacity multi-purpose room, environmental and chemistry labs, computer labs, and faculty offices. Sustainability features include solar panels and five wind turbines on its rooftop. The building achieved LEED Platinum certification.
The 17,000 square-foot theater inside the Cox Administration Building was renovated to seat 500 patrons on newly constructed risers with an orchestra pit for 42. Features included a new stage and stage house with fly-loft, rigging platforms, control room, catwalks, lobby with box office, concession stand, restrooms and new elevator to the mezzanine seating area. The project involved a complete renovation of the finishes, hardware, lighting and sound system. A new fire suppression system and security upgrades were also part of this project. Simpson & Simpson provided project/construction management services.
